NSSF mobile App is the easiest way to get NSSF number due to the following reasons;
- It is functional 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The NSSF mobile App services are available everyday including public holidays, weekends and night hours.
- It is absolutely free. You will only need data bundles/wi-fi connection to install and operate the NSSF mobile application, otherwise the service is absolutely free of charge.
- The service is available on all smartphones. As long as you have a smartphone, you are good to go. The app also occupies less than 10 mbs of phone storage space.
- Very few details are required. When using the mobile app to generate NSSF number, all you will be required to have is your national ID number and you are good to go.
- The service is fast. When using the NSSF mobile App to generate NSSF number, the process will take less than three minutes.
How to generate NSSF number using NSSF mobile App
To generate NSSF number using NSSF mobile App, you will need to have to have the following requirements;
- Smartphone connected to Internet
- ID number
- Functional mobile number
To general NSSF number using NSSF mobile App, first download the app on Google play store or apple app store depending on the nature of your phone.
After downloading and installing the app, open the app to start the registration process.
You will be required to enter your mobile number before proceeding. Enter a functioning number that is active at that time. This is important because an OTP (One Time Pin) will be sent to the number immediately and you will use it in the next step of registration.

In the next step just as I have mentioned earlier, you will be required to enter an OTP that will be sent to the number you entered in a few seconds.
You will then be required to fill in your details before completing the application process.
After filling in your details correctly, a message will be sent to your phone (on the number you used to register) to confirm that you have successfully registered for NSSF.
The message will first thank you for registering for NSSF mobile services, then it will go ahead to reveal your pin and your NSSF number. Below is an example of a text you will receive from NSSF once you are through with the registration process.
Thank you for registering for NSSF mobile services.
Your PIN is **** and your NSSF No is *********.
You will use the pin sent to you through the text to unlock your mobile App and you can change it whenever you feel like.
NSSF USSD code
NSSF mobile USSD code is 303. By dialing *303# on your mobile phone, you will be able to access all NSSF services at the comfort of your mobile phone.

How to register for NSSF using the mobile USSD code
USSD code is another way you can follow to register for NSSF services.
To use this code, you should have the following;
- Mobile phone
- Functional sim card loaded with airtime
- ID number
Once you have these requirements, you will be required to dial *303# on your phone (you will be required to have airtime in your phone to access this code).
After dialing this code, select the first option that is registration of new member.
You will then be required to fill in your details after which a text message will be sent to your phone few seconds after successfull registration.
This text message just as the one sent when you register using the mobile app.
NSSF portal
You can also register for NSSF services by filling an online form available in NSSF portal.
This form is filled and submitted online for free.
How to register for NSSF online
To register for NSSF online, you will first have to access the NSSF online portal where you will fill in a form.
To access the NSSF registration portal, click on this link.
On the portal, you will find an online form where you will be required to fill in the following details;
- Account Info including Username and Password
- Member Particulars including Nationality, Surname, First Name, Middle Name, Mother’s First Name, Gender, Payroll No, Country of Birth, Date of Birth, Birth Certificate Number, Name of the person who issued the birth Certificate, the date the birth Certificate was issued, Employment Date, ID number, ID Document Issued Date, If the payment will be voluntary or it will be deducted from your salary automatically, KRA Pin no, Employer ID.
- You will also be required to fill in your permanent address details including; P.O. Address 1, P.O. Address 2.
After entering these details, you will proceed to submit the form online for free and the NSSF number will be sent to your phone through a text message.
